How to Cook Potatoes

+Boil Them!

What You Need:

-5-6 potatoes peeled and chopped (red, white, yellow, russet)

-a pot filled halfway with water


Steps:

  1. Place the potatoes into the pot filled with water. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 15 minutes. This method is best for making the potatoes soft enough for mashed potatoes. If making potato salad, once the water starts to boil reduce the heat to med-low and cook for 15 minutes so that the potatoes will be soft but firm.


+Bake Them!

What You Need:

-6 potatoes peeled and chopped (red, white, yellow, russet)

-4 tbs. olive oil

-seasonings

-a mixing bowl

-a baking pan


Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 390 degrees. Toss potatoes with oil and seasonings in the mixing bowl. Place the potatoes onto the baking dish and spread them out so that there is space between the pieces. Bake for 35 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown, softened, and crisp.
